| Queenstown Winter Festival is New
Zealand's largest winter celebration. Queenstown Winter
Festival
has been held for over 20 years and runs for ten day
each year. The Festival is held the week immediately
prior to the New Zealand School Holidays.
The festival has grown since its early day and now there are dozens of events centred around three main venues. Mountain events are held at Coronet Peak Skifield, while events in Queenstown township Earnslaw Park and the lakeside are the main venues.
The Winter Festival has both free and ticketed events. Free events include the Lindauer Opening Party, the Queenstown Mardi Gras, the Family Mountain Carnival, the Speight's Dog Derby or the madcap Downtown Day.

as: Friday June 27th to Sunday July 6th 2008.
