The Queenstown Wine Trail picks up guests from accommodation or from The Station
Building in Queenstown.
Transport:
Vehicles take a maximum of 21 people, which allows small friendly, fun and personalised
tours.
Minimum Numbers:
Trips are confirmed with a minimum of 2 passengers.

Queenstown's Original
Wine Tour
The Queenstown Wine Trail follows the story of wine production in the area.
Gibbston Valley Wines released the region’s first commercial wine vintage
in 1987. Since then the region and its several vineyards have become famous
for producing premium wines, particularly pinot noir. Winemaking at 45 south
is an adventurous business. The vineyards here are at high altitude and subject
to cold winters, hot dry summers and a huge night to day temperature range.
Such adversity has led to pioneering winemaking, consistently superb wines,
worldwide recognition and a plethora of international awards.
Each winery in the Queenstown region is a unique reflection of the pioneering
spirit and passion for wine common to the local winemakers and viticulturalists.
There are several vineyards in the Queenstown region. We choose the best vineyard
combinations to provide an unhurried tour for each group on any given day.
A knowledgeable, fun and friendly guide will escort you from Queenstown into
the wine country of the scenic Wakatipu region. At each vineyard you’ll
meet a member of the vineyard for a close up perspective of the local wine.
Whether your palate is well developed or simply enthusiastic, as long as you
love wine, our tours will delight.

On demand

Designer Days tours offer fully escorted tours for small or large groups (2-80).

Friendly, knowledgeable guides offer an understanding of the unique Central Otago wine growing conditions and wines offered. Travelling time is kept to a minimum, the pace is relaxed and wine always superb. Departs 8.30am. Operates from 10 October - 31 March. Allow 3.5 hours. Visit a variety of Queenstown's residential gardens on a personalised, fun and informative sightseeing tour through one of the South Island's most beautiful regions, Queenstown.
The Queenstown Garden Tour operates daily in the vibrant Queenstown spring and summer months.
Visit three country gardens with spectacular lake and alpine views. Queenstown Garden Tour is ideal for those wanting to experience a relaxed and gentle side of Queenstown not normally accessible to visitors. Traditional Devonshire tea served in a delightful garden setting. Children are classified as 15 years and under. Minimum four passengers to confirm a trip.

Departs 8.30am. Operates from 10 October - 31 March. Allow full day. The morning tour offers clients the chance to experience a fun, informative, friendly and personalised tour of three private residential gardens and chat with the friendly homeowners. Relax with a delicious Devonshire tea served in a delightful garden setting.
There are a selection of gardens to choose from depending on the time of season eg: spring bulbs, peony flowers, perennials and rose bloomings.
The gardens offer spectacular views of the surrounding lakes, mountain and rivers. At midday guests transfer to the Queenstown Wine Trail for an afternoon of wine tastings and a special menu vineyard lunch at the famous Gibbston Valley Winery. Then visit the wine cave and enjoy tastings in this wonderful surrounding and also visit the cheese factory for a tour and tasting. After lunch you visit another winery before returning to Queenstown at 4.00pm. Children are classified as 15 years and under.

For this trip you join up with Richard and Elaine Bryant of Guided Nature Walks to create the Guided Nature Walk and Wine Trail Combo.
This is a full day tour, which is a combination of a morning Guided Nature Walk and an afternoon Queenstown Wine Trail Summer Sampler. The morning ‘Lakeshore Forest & Bird’ walk is a unique nature interpretative experience taken at a leisurely pace with morning tea/coffee on the lakeshore to the sounds of native birdcalls and surrounded by majestic mountains. After the walk you join the Queenstown Wine Trail for an afternoon of wine tastings and a special menu vineyard lunch at the famous Gibbston Valley Winery. Then visit the wine cave and enjoy tastings in this wonderful surrounding and also visit the cheese factory for a tour and tasting. After lunch you will visit another winery before returning to Queenstown at 4.00pm.
